Sophie did a joint PhD at the University of Vienna and the University of Amsterdam. She defended her thesis in Amsterdam infront of her examiners Guda van Noort, Joanna Strycharz, Jessica Piotrowski, Kate Dommett, and Desiree Schmuck. Her project was supervised by Sophie Lecheler, Sanne Kruikemeier, and Claes de Vreese.
