Fatemeh Asadi Pour is a PhD candidate at the Political Communication Research Group (POLCOM) at the University of Vienna, under the supervision of Ass.-Prof. Dr. Claudia Wilhelm, MA. In her dissertation, she focuses on the social media experience and perceptions of LGBTQ+ youth. She holds a Bachelor and Master Degree in Communication Science from the University of Vienna, with ongoing Bachelor studies in Linguistics. She worked previously as tutorial lecturer at the Department of Communication and as a student assistant to Univ.-Prof. Dr. Annie Waldherr and the Computational Communication Science Lab (CCL) at the University of Vienna.
In previous research, Fatemeh has focused on topics related to diversity, minority, and gender issues. Gender representation in media, their perception by audiences, and the impact on subjective well-being, lived experiences, and identity formation, especially for gender identity and sexual orientation minorities, have been the main subjects of interest to her.
