Dominik Hokamp is a predoctoral researcher in the FWF project "Emotions in Political Journalism" led by Prof. Sophie Lecheler and Prof. Folker Hanusch. In his research, he investigates the role emotions play in everyday mediation processes between journalists, politicians and their audience.
Dominik Hokamp studied journalism and communication in Berlin and Gothenburg and holds a master's degree in media and political communication from Freie Universität Berlin. During his studies, he worked as a tutor and student assistant at the Institute for Communication Studies there. In his work in the research group "Digitalization and Transnational Public Spheres" at the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society, he dealt intensively with the threats to democracy posed by right-wing extremism and conspiracy narratives and was involved in various research projects.
